Overtime blues

Stuck in office. Almost alone. The office ghosts are either keeping me company or dancing to the music blaring out of the Mac I'm using.

Proofreading a 28 page souvenir program. 17 pages down. 12 to go. Am tired. Brain running purely on cappucino-induced high. Must finish tonight because program due for pickup tomorrow at 10:00 am.

Augh.

*plaintive* Anyone out there want to keep me company in my misery? Please?

*grumbles* Oh, the horror of proofreading and editing badly-written writeups of various folk dance groups! *rolls eyes at one group that details in its write-up, all its growing pains, problems and troubles* People, this is not a press release asking for funds, this is your write-up! Do we reallly need to know that you guys can't maintain a stable membership and lack for costumes in a SOUVENIR PROGRAM? AUGH!

You poor thing! This must be job hell month! Editing badly-worded *stuff* is not my idea of a fun time, although it can be unintentionally amusing. Heh - think of it - a whiny souvenir booklet! :-D (Might be fun as a parody.)

I've been trying to finish a tech award application for a scientist. They're a Big Thing where I work and it's due the 29th. My researcher still hasn't given me all the technical details I need. Making me nervous, he is! I've done as much as I can, but now I need his input and he says he's 'busy'. Argh. He's supposedly doing some of what I need tonight. Methinks he got himself overbooked.

Hang in there. I'm having a cup of tea, care to join me?

Sorry about your late stay at the office. I can see the same thing quite clearly in my future, too. I hope you got home eventually.

Actually, I hope you won't read this until tomorrow or very late this afternoon at the very least, when you are more rested.
