Stitch the New Year Grinch
Jan. 3rd, 2005 11:12 pmIf there is any holiday I loathe with all my might, it's gotta be New Year's Eve/New Year's Day. I've hated it ever since I was a wee alien, being as all the fireworks and the loud explosions and the earsplitting blasts scared the bejesus out of me. While The Family runs outside to enjoy the neighbors' fireworks at exactly 12 midnight, I sort of scurry out for five minutes to kiss everyone for the New Year and then run right back inside.
Because I still can't stand earsplitting explosions going on all over the place.
And because the sheer pollution and gunpowder clog up my lungs. Which results in a miserable cold for over the next couple of days. Both the Eggling and I are laid up again and since I've been asleep the whole day, drugged up on cold meds, I've dragged myself to the computer to vent all this out.
I really want to write something about The Boys and their Brood, not to mention knuckle down on the next chapters of As You Wish and Arthur's little adventure but cold meds are hell on the brain and one's creativity.
I really NEED a new Snarry RPG. God knows I can't participate as a player, being as Real Life woes tend to leave me with no time for RPG-playing. But I do wish there was one where I can interact as an audience member. I miss
The Dungeons doesn't count as it is not Snarry. And while I adore Dungeons!Snape, I'm not following the storyline as actively as I used to. With all due apologies to the lovely authors and the good friends I've made there, I'm not very into the direction the story is taking now. But that's just me - hey, it's just not my cuppa tea anymore, no offense meant or intended.
I am, however, fast falling in love with
Er. Feanor isn't squabbling with my Severus Muse over the "trinkets" crack, is he? *facepalms*
I'm terrified of Morrie and Methos getting in cahoots with each other. Methos as Morrie? Methos IS Morrie? GACK!!!
AND THEY'RE GODFATHERS/UNCLES TO MY SNAPE-POTTER BROOD!!! Oh lord, the World will not be the same...
Good thing I'd have to ask M99's permission before I'd allow those two to make me write down their (mis)adventures. Behave, boys.

Date: 2005-01-03 08:34 pm (UTC)I'm very much with you about needing a new Snarry RPG. I miss Restituere too. It used to be the first thing I read each time I turned on the computer.
I follow
I thought of you the other day, when I had to choose a "freebie" at a book warehouse, and I chose the Princess Bride video. I don't think I've ever watched the movie, so now I will know all the characters in your story! Remind me again just who is who ... :D

Date: 2005-01-04 04:03 am (UTC)I wonder if I should formally kick up another LJ - a one-alien performance RPG in which I should tell the story of how my boys ACTUALLY fell for each other through the journal....?
Am currently looking back at all the Snarry backstories of restituere and checking over what I've missed. Hee. Ah, 'delta and 'toy - how I love thee both. :P
Oooh - glad to see you've finally got the Princess Bride video. I had one - someone borrowed it and DID NOT GIVE IT BACK - argh. Go see it - 'tis wonderful.
*snerk* As for its relation to As You Wish - uhm, Harry would be Cary Elwes a.k.a. Westley and Snape would be Robin Wright a.k.a. Buttercup (dies laughing). Oh, my Snape Muse is going to kill me. Snapercup, indeed!
Ron is Inigo Montoya. Voldie is Prince Humperdinck. Lucius Malfoy is the Count and the Six-fingered Man. Hagrid is Fezzik. Peter Pettigrew is the Sicilian.
Everyone else is still up in the air and I really must do that soon....

Date: 2005-01-04 04:34 am (UTC)My riding-instructor had to sedate her best horse on New Year's eve so the sound of the neighbor's fireworks wouldn't make her spook and run around on her already-injured leg. Sighs. There's no way to explain to a horse that this is only a twice-a-year phenomena and mostly harmless.
To help further your recovery, I've just posted part 12 of Blue Notes. :D
Cue evil manga-villian laugh: Keh-heh-heh! Feanor *has* tried to rein in his renegade Vala, with only mixed success. And right now, the worthy elf is building a forge and trying to figure out how to order high-carbon steel via the internet's industrial suppliers. I don't wanna know what he's up to. But it probably involves the manufacture of magical pointy things. And he's probably buying certain potions from Severus in which to quench the darned things. Nothing like a little magical collaboration.
Now, now, I'm sure the kid's godparents will be exemplars of behavior for the precocious tykes. (Notice I didn't say 'good behavior'.)
Hey, I never want to be the one to stand in the way of persistent muses! If
Happy Recovery. Oh, and Happy New Year, too.
Saw a great cartoon today on that note: Two cats watching their owner with his head in the toilet. "That's weird, the only time he drinks from the toilet is New Year's Day." 0_@
