Two HP recs!

darth_stitchWhy do I root for Severus and Harry? Because these two eejits get shafted with the absolute worst cards EVER. Snape's likely to make the Tragic Redeemed Hero role (gods forbid that he off himself in the canon Potterverse; if he does, I shall pretend IT NEVER HAPPENED). Harry's got a 50/50 chance of being the Tragic Hero Who Ends Up Giving His Life.

copperbadge - both of 'em wonderful AUs that I wish Snape and Harry were able to live. Nope - none of these are Snarry. The boys enjoying the slash here would be our Puppies.
Stealing Harry is a fantabulous AU and WIP where Harry, at eight (and a half!), is taken by his godfather Sirius and Lupin away from the godawful Dursleys. It's a universe where Lucius, not Sirius, got to Peter first and where Sirius never went to Azkaban. Of course, we know Peter's hiding around as a certain Weasley pet but that's for later.
Puppy slashers rejoice because we got some Sirius/Remus loving here and the set-up is beautifully canon-like. I can believe this. Snape is still his usual cranky bastard self but you have to laugh when little Harry first encounters him and eventually, His Snarkiness finds himself liking his old schoolboy enemy's son. Yes, folks, Snape gets the "honorary uncle" role. It's hilarious and sweet and we all look forward to more.
All This Time (a WIP and pretty much gen all round) has a post-OOTP Severus going back in time to gently nudge his younger self away from the mistakes he made in the past. The brief appearances that the older Severus makes are both bittersweet and slightly humorous. Bittersweet because we know he's gone through some serious shit and we do get a glimpse of the situation after OOTP (ow!). Slightly humorous when he finds out the new choices his younger self was able to make. (You'll understand once he hears about the new House the younger Severus was sorted into - BWAHAHAHAHA!)
Anyway, we have a Severus Snape as part of the Marauders, instead of Peter Pettigrew. We get schoolboy pranks, an arsehole pureblood fanatic Prof, Dumbledore twinkling, a Sirius who reminds me an awful lot of canon!Ron (who I adore), a James whose arrogance is tempered by an essential good nature and the fact that BOTH Severus and Remus are there to rein him in, a Severus that reminds me an awful lot of Harry himself and a wonderful Remus Lupin. This is the AU life I wish Severus was able to have. Go, read!
