There's something about watching it on the big screen that just goes right to my heart and just....wow.

Like:

1. When Pippin lights the first beacon and you see ALL of the beacons lighting one by one from mountain to mountain. Hope is kindled with one single light.

Didn't imagine that in the books. But....wow. Utterly wow. Forget logistics (like how on earth did ANYONE manage to do that from THAT kind of altitude?) - it was an awe-inspiring sight.

2. Faramir. That expression on his face when Denethor affirms, YES, I WOULD HAVE BOROMIR IN YOUR PLACE RIGHT NOW! Damn it. I hope to God Peter Jackson filmed Faramir/Eowyn scenes. I hope to God I'll see the Houses of Healing sequence and Faramir meeting Aragorn for the first time. Because I want to see more Faramir in this movie, damn it!

3. Legolas. Whether he's kicking ass or just looking pretty. 'Nuff said.

On a hilarious side note, I must thank The 'Stine for...ahem, emailing me orli pictures. One of them included him snogging either Viggo or Dominic Monaghan at some kind of LOTR party or what. Trippin' or carried away by the moment or fooling around. While I'm not into RPS, I'm sure the RPSers will probably get a kick out of seeing the picture. BWAH!

4. Every. Single. Damn. Battle. Scene. Unfuckingbelievable. Awe-inspiring.

5. The little moments. Frodo's despair and his determination. Sam's heroism. Pippin and Merry the first ones to surge into the fray right after Aragorn. Pippin proving himself as a true guard of the Citadel by killing his first orc - I keep seeing Boromir looking down from the hearafter and roaring with pride. Pippin unable to meet Faramir's eyes, all too obviously seeing the lost older brother in the younger man's face. Frodo waking up for the first time after it was all over and the Fellowship, sans one, finally reunited.

Sigh. It just can't get any better.

On a side note, my Father the Loon was mightily ticked at the news that Mom and I watched the movie for the second time. To him, it's incomprehensible that we would throw away our hard-earned cash to see a movie we've already seen. Sigh. Unfortunately, my practical father is one of those people who'll never get this kind of thing. My brother seems to be inclining in that direction but hopefully, he doesn't get too far.

Sometimes, a little "impracticality" is good for you. Oh well. It takes all kinds of people to make up a world.

On a much happier note, I must thank [livejournal.com profile] murasaki99 for making my Faramir Nuzgul Bunny. Wheee!!!!! *pets her sweetie* You know, this is now perched on my head asking for another ficlet.

*facepalms* And I think I have another idea....oh good grief.

I told you not to overfeed him. LOL. Enjoy writing the ficlet, I'm sure I'll enjoy reading it.

Got to agree with all the scenes you mention. I do think they filmed the Houses of Healing parts, so all we need to do is wait for the ROTK EE DVD. *sighs*

There have been House of Healing screencaps released, so hopefully at least some will make it to the EE.

*waits impatiently*
