an open letter to God
Jul. 5th, 2005 02:38 pmDear God,
There is an acute shortage of good, decent people in this world.
My father is one of those good people.
Please don't make the world's shortage of good people even worse by taking him away from us.
Thank you. I know You have been with all of us every step of the way, for these past few days. We could not have made it without you.
Love you, God.
Love,
Stitch

Note to all of you guys out there:
Won't be around for a good long while. Dad is in the ICU of the hospital. His biopsy results came back as a very acute infection but non-malignant. The doctors are baffled. He has pneumonia, jaundice, an enlarged spleen and an anemia which they still can't figure out where on God's green earth is it coming from.
Please, please, please, pray for my father. All your prayers are helping him and us through these long difficult days.
Thanks and much love to you all - every time I open my LJ and see your messages of love and hope, I find the strength to keep going. And my mother appreciates it too.

Date: 2005-07-05 05:47 am (UTC)Would you mind if I talked about what's up with my mum? She's an oncology NP, but she's done loads of other things in her career.
I assume they're giving him stuff to help, but if you're allowed to smuggle him food, kale and other dark leafy greens are VERY helpful in combating anemia. (is anemic on a fairly regular basis) Red meat right now might not digest as well, but that's a good thing too.
They've checked his lymph system, I assume? Not just under his arm, but other places as well? Does he have anything odd behind his ears? 'Cause spleen is lymph, and major nodes are under the arm, and if the body is fighting off a major infection, the nodes puff up something awful.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
