I'm going to miss femme....
Sep. 8th, 2003 06:30 pmI am going to miss hp_femme. According to
lamardeuse, she's taking a break from LJ and the HP fandom for a while. I hope femme's all right, whereever she is and that she comes back soon. She's one of the few Snarry authors I adore and her writing has a lovely, lovely mix of snark, smut and humor.
Which is why I'm going to rec her last Snarry fic for a while (sob!). I must warn y'all that it's at kardasi's site: From Dusk Till Dawn: The Harry Potter/Severus Snape Fuh-Q-Fest and that it's password-protected. However, signing up for the list is worth the trouble - so long as you're over age and fill in the requirements, just set your membership to receive update mail only, to avoid clogging your inboxes and you'll get the password and stuff in no time.
Whence All Good Things by Femme(Slash) (hp_femme)
The summary is short and simple - Harry returns home after a long absence. This is an older Harry, who's never really recovered from a disastrous relationship with Severus Snape and after wandering all over the world for 10 years, finally decides to return home. He's got an even heavier burden to bear now, a secret that drives him to come back and be with the people that mean to him the most - Ron, Hermione and their kids.
The Granger-Weasley kids are fabulously-done OCs but my heart was completely stolen away by the eldest kid - Phillip. His Hogwarts sorting is a priceless, priceless moment of humor in a story that turns out all too bittersweet and angsty. And that's not all that Phillip does - this kid is a little too much like his godfathers Snape and Harry for his own good.
The Snape-Harry dynamic is again both hot and achingly sweet, with an ending that will leave you reaching for the tissues. And oh yes, Snape's motives for ending the relationship earlier were, as usual, based on his own insecurities and "Harry's own good." The inevitable reunion, with the angsty twist at the end, is well worth coming back to and several boxes of Kleenex.
Run and read now at http://www.kardasi.com and hope that when femme returns to the fandom, she'll do a sequel. For fans of Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme - never fear, this is not set in the PSRT universe. Hopefully, we'll all get to read the sequel to that one day too.
Be well, femme and good luck!
