The Comedy Recs List Part I

Yep. I admit it freely and proudly. I'm a Comedy Nut.
Lest those who were watching me while I had my MPD episodes over Teh AAAANGST think I HATE Angst and such - let me get things straight. I don't HATE angst. I like it just fine, thanks. Sushi's ENTIRE Civil War Series and Telanu's Tea Series, for example, are high on the Angst O' Meter (with screwball comedy episodes interspersed in Sushi's Civil War stuff), but I love 'em to bits. And yeah, even with my penchant for happy endings, I keep re-reading Sushi's The Last Dance. No, it does not cause me to keel over, die and let loose my Muses on the long-suffering world. I just bawl my eyes out each and every time I re-read that fic.
What? The fact that I'm a raving nutter has already been firmly established.
Be that as it may, I LOVE to laugh and I find that the Snape/Harry pairing, after you've done the angsty and highly dramatic bits, has a lot of potential for comedy. Great comedy. The snarking makes for great comic UST and the fact that they realize: good god, I'm in love/lust with HIM?!!! makes me chortle every time.
All in a Duck's Work by Bridget McKennit and its sequel Duck Watch - Hilarious. And all about Teh Duck, as much as the Snarry. Priceless.
JayKay's Too Wise To Woo Peacably which can be found here at her website - was one of the first Snarry fics that made me sit down and laugh my ass off. Harry and Severus as Beatrice and Benedick in "Much Ado About Nothing?" Perfect. Hogwarts does Shakespeare and man, can they DO Shakespeare. Side note: I find re-reading this fic especially hilarious NOW since two Hogwarts faculty - Emma Thompson (Trelawney) and Kenneth Branagh (Lockhart) - did the roles in THEIR movie. Snerk.
If we're really talking screwball comedy, then to me, the acknowleded mistress of this has to be Sushi. I say it every day: God bless Sushi. After making me cry over her magnificent Snarry saga, she comes up with all these little stories full of snark, smut and laughs. So here's my favorite funny Sushi stories:
I Woke Up Early The Day I Died found in a set of reposted fics HERE is a death story. Why did it make me laugh my ass off? Ah. If you haven't read this, go now and find out. The sequel, Marching Home (found it finally, YES!) is right over HERE.

Gone To Pot and All-Purpose Salve were reposted here - snark, sex and smut - what could be better?
Diana William's The Unhappiest Potions Master on Earth is another comic treasure. Snape and Harry in Disney World? This you have to read to believe. :P
Okay, if Telanu's Tea Series keeps us on our toes with Teh Angst, she's also got The Coffee Series for the laughs. Severus Snape deprived of coffee is not a pretty picture. Oh no. Good thing he's got Harry, eh? Found here at her website.
Lydia Lovestruck's The Medean Curse is another great funnyfic. See Harry get..."cursed." See Severus get a make-over. See the boys get all confused-like over this stupid business called love. Snerkity snerk snerk.
Devi's Just A Few Letters Off makes me giggle delightedly every time I re-read it. An owl delivers a "love letter" to the wrong guy - Snape. Or is it the right fellow after all?
Now, I have to get back to that blasted report. More recs to follow when I get my brains unscrambled and my links sorted. :D
