Some very odd observations today....

1. I keep on getting sick and it's just not fucking funny anymore. It's a combination of the crazed weather (blistering hot one day; storms the next), my occasionally wonky teeth and also my evil uterus. That's it. In my next life, I'm going to be reborn as a gay man with perfect teeth, serious resistance to pain and sickness and in a country with a GREAT climate. :p

2. hp_femme recently mentioned that the newest title of Book 6 in the Potterverse is "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince." And then I was looking through an old chatlog between me and farahn where she told me that rumor has it a LOT of Snape's past is going to be explained in Book 6.

Um. The minute I start seeing fics using THIS "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" title and are about how Snape is actually this "Half Blood Prince" chap and lives in Snape Castle and takes Harry away from the Evil Durseleys and has this Unbreakable Soul Bond with Our Hero....I'm going to shoot myself with a spork.

I'll upgrade that to a stake in my undead Half-Vampiric Alien Heart if said Half Blood Prince is actually Draco Malfoy who's not really a pureblood after all but is the secret bastard son of Looshie on some Muggle Royalty spawned because Narcissa was frigid.

AUGH!

3. Because I was stuck at home with an aching gut today, I ended up watching this old Bo Derek movie dear ol' Daddy brought home. No. Not "10." It was "Tarzan the Ape Man." I was too young to remember Bo Derek as the hot item she was in yesteryears but seeing her as she was then in this truly BAAAAAAAAAAD movie that was nothing more than an excuse to show off her magnificent body....holy cats! The woman's a bloody Barbie doll. NOW, I understand all this "10" business.

4. I was rereading lamardeuse's wonderful Snarry/Queer as Folk crossover "A Taste of Liberty" today. This fic is Crossover 101 for me as Lamardeuse blends in the Potterverse and this universe that I do NOT know about and still makes me cheer for the characters in QaF. The trouble is, Queer as Folk has NOT made it here to my shores so I have zero notion on how to imagine the boys.

The funny thing is, "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" is here so I keep imagining the adorable Jai as Justin, Kyan as Brian and Carson as Emmett. And since I've been watching Priscilla Queen of the Desert again (I love that movie; it's a blast) - I keep seeing Hugo Weaving as Marilyn. Hee.

Now, to catch up on what I've missed in RPG and LJ-land....

upon reading 'femme's latest about the Half Blood Prince idea....I'm beginning to really see Snape as this character. Partly because I agree with her that Snape might possibly be Rom and partly because it's such a neat idea to use for a vampire Snape story.

Bloody hell. I'm giving myself Plot Tiggers again!

1. Hugs and sympathy. I can definitely relate to the "evil uterus" syndrome.

2. I'm with you when it comes to Snape being the Half Blood Prince - I'll love JKR to pieces if the whole book is about Harry and Snape. *grin* But of course, by the time they come to make the movie, Alan Rickman will be toooo old, and they'll have someone else play Snape. *sob*

4. I read "ATOL" before I'd seen Queer as Folk, so I imagined the guys in a totally different way - I had to readjust my brain when I did finally see the series. Actually, I think your version, using the Queer Eye guys, is really good! Nothing like the real Justin and Brian, but maybe better. Jai is so cute!

Good enough. Though Justin is blond and more filled out that Jai is, and Kyan is cuter but Brian is hotter, and Emmett is younger than Carson and not as sassy. :D (My friend has seasons 1-3 of QaF. I watched them all. :P)

Oh, so that's what murasaki99 meant when she said you had bad teeth, too -- grr, silly teeth. I just had an incredibly stupid wisdom tooth taken out last week (it was lying on its side) so I can empathize with you there. And I can always empathize with you on the uterus thing. It's tough being a girl.
