Snarry and Toothache
Jun. 17th, 2004 07:08 pmIt's official. Reading Snarry is a GREAT cure for toothache.
After another weekend wherein I was unable to use the computer due to the fact I was too sick to get out of bed (damn it, flu bugs - WILL YOU JUST EFFING STAY AWAY FROM ME?!!!!), I woke up with another monster toothache. Which lasted all day. And all through the night. Could not sleep at all.
Sleepless, in pain and just plain depressed, I tiredly booted up the old laptop at the unholy hour of 4:00 am and found Tira Nog's sequel to her lovely "A Nick in Time" - Growing Pains. What do you know? My toothache disappeared.
Hee. Lovely Snarry. Gorgeous.
A second reading (yes, I really do read THAT fast) brings up some itsy-bitsy things I could be picky about but it's not a Big Issue. Aside from her lovely Harry and Severus (who seem to have taken up residence in my head - not that my own Snarry Muses object muchly) - I love the way she's gotten all the secondary characters. Blaise Zabini usually gets shafted a near Harry Stu/Mary Sue-ish role in a LOT of badfics - but he's a believable fella here. I completely adore the Severus and Ron dynamic, the fact that Hermione as "Mum" gets to "like Severus best," the grown-up Neville, the flabbergasted Remus, the Twins and all the rest.
I wish we could see cookies where Hermione finally gets to be Mummy to her own little boys (jeez, does that make Harry and Severus Official Big Brothers?). What adventures did The Whole Family get up to during the summer holidays? What will happen when Adam and all the other little kids Harry and Severus went to school with finally go to Hogwarts? I'm sure Adam's going to do a double take when he's confronted with his former playmates as Grown-ups For Real. Not to mention the inner quaking the bullies are going to have once they're taking Potions class under His Snarkiness. And oh yeah, more Harry and Severus shmoop!
Hee. Anyway, I'd better toddle off. Editing with a nagging widdle ache in m'fangs is going to be a bitch..... *sigh*
