Searching for ANY decent fanfic in ff.net is like looking for the proverbial needle in the haystack.

Sometimes, you just get lucky.

Hanakai seems to be another one of those very prolific Snarry authors. I have to admit, I was squicked by her Broken Lullabyes arc - non-con squicks me so I bypassed it. No offense meant to Hanakai though.

However, her J. Alfred Prufrock Arc caught my attention and I started with the first fic.

Wow.

Beautiful use of language and heart-wrenching post-OotP Snarry interaction. I've always believed that Snape and Harry are up for a major confrontation in future HP books - Harry has to deal with his grief and guilt over Sirius and his rage at Snape, who's now placed as the very convenient scapegoat. Hanakai's take on that confrontation is gut-wrenchingly believable.

At the moment, the Arc is fast moving from pre-slash to the actual thing and the latest story left me shivering. I have no words to describe the way she's managed to catch all those emotions - it's just...wow.

Run over now to her ff.net profile:

Start with "You're Standing On My Neck." The series' latest update is "This Dream From Which We'll Wake and Go."

Thank you.

Thank you for your reviews! I'm glad that BL didn't scare you away. J. Alfred Prufrock will hopefully be a bit more mellow than, if in some ways as melancholy as, Broken Lullabies. ^_^ I have no idea where BL came from, but it's almost finished. JAP still has at least three fics to go. Again, I just wanted to drop by and say thank you.
Always,
