My journal is called: Bug House Central. Hang on a bit, this is something of a story.

I first started writing fan fiction (not knowing that I was doing "fan fiction" and that other people were also doing the same thing) waaaaaaaaaaay back in elementary, in the Star Wars universe. And yes, there was no such thing as the Internet and computers were bloody expensive things that hadn't caught on yet for most people. I had a notebook, my trusty ballpen or later, a mechanical pencil and eraser and I was set.

The awful Star Wars shite I used to write (complete with Mary Sues, weird-ass alternate universes and convulted plots that I could never finish), pretty much paved the way for the fan fiction I started writing in high school, which was set in the Forever Knight universe. I fell in love with Forever Knight's Nick and inspired by a Certain Classmate who had stories of her own with Certain 80s Boyband Members and the Beatles, I made up my own fictional universe with Nicholas Knight, complete with my longstanding original vampire character - Prince Kristoff Ivan Alexander Alyardi, gratuitious self-inserts of me and my friends and other fandoms that I fell in love with over the years, which include various anime, Kindred the Embraced, Phantom of the Opera, Sherlock Holmes, Buffy, Jennifer Roberson's Robin Hood novel etc.

Kristoff - who eventually evolved into "Kyrys Alyardi," the reincarnations of Erik (Phantom of the Opera), Sherlock Holmes and Robin Hood, my high school gang and I, and various anime characters all lived together in this sprawling three-storey house that included a vast basement for the vampires to sleep in, plus a soundproof rehearsal room for Erik, a laboratory, a library and other fun places. My bedroom was in the attic of course (snerk). Nick Knight and Natalie dropped by every now and then, plus another best friend came over, bringing in her own set of original characters that made the Addams Family look boring, and we were set. We called the place Bug House, after the name of our high school gang (yes, damn it, we were silly geeks and I'm not ashamed to admit it).

I didn't have any romantic attachments to any of the fandom boys - my usual role was mother hen or big sister. With every new fandom, I found myself adopting new characters, especially the ones on a redemption trip like Spike or Snape, which explains my LJ bio, if you guys ever take a look there. Heh. It's a role I find myself playing even now, with the Dungeons RPG. *wry grin* I filled several notebooks with our adventures and those who know me in high school will probably remember that I nearly always run around with a notebook and mechanical pencil in hand, with extra lead and an eraser in my pocket.

Aside from a Certain Classmate, there were several of us who ran around with notebooks and scratch paper in two, and we often traded stories, crossed over into each other's respective fictional universes and spent long hours on the phone telling each other stories. *sigh* My apologies to all my fellow Certain Classmates who suffered when I was the one telling them about the latest adventure we were going through. *blush*

So pulling in and mixing up fandoms isn't really new to me and since the habit has remained up to now *sheepish grin* - I knew I had to name this LJ Bug House Central.

My subtitle is: Darth Stitch/Jedi Skysong's page for Rants, Recs and Scribbles because yes, this is now my new "notebook" for stories and stuff like this. Plus, I can be secure in the knowledge that I won't drive my friends bananas anymore when I have this new story idea I can't wait to talk about. *blush* I can air it out here where it can be mercifully ignored or someone will pay attention and it's all right.

My friends page is called: "Fellow Aliens" because yes, I'm playing up on the joke that I'm an Alien. Then again, I've always been the alien for most of my life - one of the classic weird, odd kids who didn't always fit in with the normal group. I could and did make friends among the more normal of my classmates - they were both amused and intimidated by me. But my closest friends were more like me and yes, they weren't very many. I'm an Alien. I've accepted that. I revel in it now and make the most of it. *wry wry grin*

My username is: Darth Stitch, because this is the new name I picked up when I first watched Lilo and Stitch and became active in the Harry Potter fandom. Jedi Skysong was my old name from the Star Wars fandom, with "Skysong" taken from the little dragon character in Tamora Pierce's Wild Magic series. I still use "Jedi Skysong," especially on ff.net, so I keep it around. Splitting my personalities between Jedi and Sith is another little joke of mine. Many of my favorite characters tend to have some sort of division to them - witness Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker, Himura Kenshin/Hitokiri Battousai, Nick Knight with the vampire/human thing, Spike/William etc.
