Oh. I wish. But it makes sense that I get Kenshin up there over at Quizilla, with the way I'm feeling now....

The 5:00 pm deadline set by the Philippine government has come and gone. The rebel soldiers are still there. Some of them have surrendered. The rest are standing fast. They have good reasons -they're angry and they feel like they've got nowhere to go. I can't be angry at them. I may not condone what they're doing, but I can understand where they're coming from. Poor pay and corruption facing a bunch of guys who risk their lives on a regular basis? Seeing their very own bullets aimed right back at them? Corrupt generals driving around in Ford Expeditions while they can barely put food on the table? I can get that and so does the rest of my countrymen, all too painfully.

Still, this is MY city, damn it. I don't want a goddamn bloodbath on streets that I walk on every day, just a hop and a skip away from my home. I don't want to wake up and find out that our economy's gone to shit -- again, because investors are running scared.

Anime heroes get lovely angst, superpowers and a chance to win in the end. Real life heroes aren't always so lucky.

Well, it's over, but at what cost?

It really irks me to think that they're doing this because they think their lives suck. Well, thanks to this little stunt, like you said, investments and tourism will be shot to hell. They just dug us a little bit deeper into the hole we in which we already are.
