Thank you thank you THANK YOU to everyone who sent love and hugs and prayers for me and Dad. It's been a very trying week so far for us and seeing you guys here at LJ helped enormously. I told my Mom, who appreciated it very muchly, especially as she's trying to keep it together for Dad's sake and I also told my Dad, who's a bit bemused but I think it helps him feel better too.

Lab tests show Dad's heart and lungs are nice and normal (THANK GOD) but his blood count's a wee bit low (bordering on anemic) and therefore, we must feed him up so he'll be strong enough for the operation. We still need to do a biopsy to find out if The Ominous Lump is malignant or not (please God, let it be benign).

In the meantime, we're all feeling poorly (suffering sympathy pains and nervous tension) but we're trying to keep it from Dad, who's already a nervous wreck himself. But the X-rays and the lab tests are very reassuring. Here's hoping the biopsy will bring good news as well.

I told dear Daddy that we should start panicking because what if (GASP!) the doctors find out our Alien Physiology through our DNA? EEP!

At least that got him to grin, though.

I had lab tests done for m'self too - for employment purposes. For the record, I LOATHE needles. Needles sticking into my arm, to be precise. So I went with him for his lab tests, we both freaked out together and it made him feel better.

I hate needles, too. My phlebotomist usually gives me pictures of hawt men to look at while she sticks me. Your family sounds wonderful, you know---so tightly knit. :)

More good vibes to all of you, and prayers as well. Cook your Dad something with iron in it (that used to be liver and onions, but yuck!). Actually, anything cooked in an iron pot ends up with plenty of iron. Got an old iron stewpot? Make some soup or spaghetti sauce in it, and you've probably got a good dose, right there.

Spinach is pretty good, too. I do like spinach. :-)

Take care!

Morrie sez: That goes for you, too, blue and fuzzy one.

Thanks for keeping us posted. I am so glad the news thus far is good. I will keep him in my thoughts until we hear the biopsy news. Remember, sometimes those can be inconclusive, and they may remove the Ominous Lump before they can tell you anything.
