The Audition Part II
Sep. 5th, 2003 11:59 amRemember that I, loon that I am, went for an audition?
Yep, I landed me a part.
It's not a big thing, actually. The cultural institution I'm working for is celebrating its anniversary and decided to put on a show featuring its own employees. "Amateur Night" - if you will. Heh.
So, I'm now stuck playing the role of Paulita - from the immortal Jose Rizal novel El Filibusterismo. And my partner is The Dork From Hell. I'm supposed to pretend I have a crush on the guy. *snicker* I believe that's why it's called showbusiness, ladies and gents.
The fun part came in when we were hunting 'round for a costume. The past, professional Paulitas were all...shall we say, Barbie-sized? The dresses were just a wee bit too snug.
*sighs* Okay, okay - my figure isn't fit to model any sort of swimsuit any time soon. It's...as the costume mistress snickered, Rubenesque.
Oi, I'm Darth Stitch - by definition, that means, short, cute, kinda fuzzy and capable of global-scale mayhem. Stick-thin I ain't.
Anyways, they came up with a brown dress that sorta looks Victorian-era to me. Which was more than fine because I can get to wear my boots underneath. I'm a klutz, can't wear stick-thin heels to save my life. If I want to add a few inches, it has to be thick, platform heels or nothing. At least, now I don't have to worry about falling on my ass onstage. Oh well...
BTW: If you're into pain, run over to
lamardeuse and read the latest two chapters of Taste of Liberty. I love her, I really do - she posted the two chapters just for
hp_femme and me because we're hopeless Snarry junkies.
*singsongs* Sev's doing an awful good job of doing the "damsel in distress" thing right now....
*ducks hexes*

Congrats!
Now I must go refer to my old copy of Fili to see who Paulita is.

Aw, screw the Barbies. (Freaks of nature, anyway. *snort*) I'm all for Rubenesque. *grin* Frankly, those women were hot. *eyes glaze over*

My kindred spirit! *throws arms around

Aren't we the lucky girls? *happy sigh* (I love you,
That was just the best Snarry fix. I needed one tonight after toiling away on Snape/Lucius smut.

Hail to thee,
And if you go to work via kamikaze Pinoy jeepney, FX taxi and train, you NEED traction.

Date: 2003-09-05 07:41 am (UTC)I have never liked heels, even when I could wear them and look cute. Nowadays I wear walking shoes, sandals, or my paddock boots. Thin heels would probably kill me.
I'll catch up on the Snarry fics this weekend when I have a spare moment to read. Augh. Project madness.
