Okay, I'm sure you guys WON'T be spoiled about the ending. We ALL know how it ends. So don't mind me if I just take the time to scream:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRR

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

RRRRGH!!!!

ANAKIN!!!! YOU IDIOT!!!!

a. My Snape Muse has vowed that he's not going to let Harry Muse go all Dark Side on us. He symphatizes with Padme's plight. Watch my Snape Muse determinedly tug Harry away from any and all EEEBIL Influences such as the Kindly Old Chancellor and the Nearest Pit of Lava.

[livejournal.com profile] fates_caprice: "You're not turning into any Sith Lord and that's final!"

[livejournal.com profile] invisiblesnitch: "Yes, dear. MEEP. Hope you don't find my Dark Lord Anonymous Card then.... *coughcough*"

b. AUGH! PADME!! Yes, I had tears in my eyes when Padme pretty much died with the belief that there was still some good in Anakin - a hope that she passed on to Luke. And yeah, with the haunting last image of dead pregnant Padme, Ani's japor snippet clasped in her hands. *cries cries cries*

c. DAMN but the Jedi were so blind.

d. OH FUCK ANAKIN DON'T DO IT!!!!! - was about my reaction when he turned on Mace Windu, knelt in homage to the Emperor and killed the Jedi Younglings....

e. "Padme. Is she all right?" - the very first words Darth Vader ever spoke. *shivers* I hear that and I remember the very last moments in Return of the Jedi where he watched as Luke was tortured by Emperor. Was it any wonder that this time, this time he could finally truly save someone he loved?

f. Damn, I want the Revenge of the Sith novelization. So many good tidbits in there that, of course, was not in the movie. Siiiiiigh.

g. Now I really want to watch the original trilogy all over again.

h. Where are the good Star Wars AUs? Preferably the ones where Vader comes to his senses and ends up on the Rebellion's side, FINALLY? The ones where Padme lived? Don't make me end up writing my own..... *wry grin*

*snickers* This is the funniest reaction to the movie I've seen yet!

I'm back in America! Did you miss me?

*GLOMPS*

Why yes, you have been missed.

*continues Teh GLOMPING*

I would have continued on in a rant that included "Anakin you DOLT, IDIOTIC, THICKHEADED, DUNDERHEADED, NITWIT GRYFFINDOR....." - except that I realized I was channeling Snape already. XP

Bwa-ha-ha! Let me throw plot-bunny food to all your little bunnykins! You've defined at least two great ones up there, you better get going! Heh-heh, have Harry and Snape help you.

And your reaction to Anakin mirrors mine perfectly. I just wanted to shake him or scream at him, or something. And I wanted to do everything 100 times worse to the entire Jedi council. AAARrrrgh!

Morrie: Yeah, and I thought the *Valar* were dickheads! *Bows toward the Jedi council* You guys win the prize!
Jedi Council: Hey! Who let him in?!
Morrie: Chill, I'm just passing through. Gotta take a bottle of Old Ogden's to a sick friend. C-ya. (exits in a sufurous puff of smog)
Mace Windu: I sense something about that man...
Yoda: Powerful with the Jazz Side of the Force, he is.

OH. DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE BLOODY JEDI COUNCIL.

*pulls at furry ears* I wanted to TWHAP the lot of them upside their Force-addled heads. Oooooooooh.

Morrie has decided to set up a music bar inside my head. Plays jazz, blues, rock n'roll..... ehehehehe. He is offering a job to Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader as the bar bouncer. I do believe His Temperamentalness is going to take it. EEP.

*is being eaten alive by the bunnehs*

From: [identity profile] murasaki99.livejournal.com
Hee-hee! I'm sure Anakin/Vader would make a very fine bouncer!

Morrie: And I'm sure the jedi council will have *lots* to time to discuss their idiocies with Lord Mandos for ages to come. (Starts playing some Blues, then riffs into ragtime, 'The Entertainer') Won't they have such a good time? My brother will talk them to death, ressurect them, and do it again! All for their own good! BWA-HA-HA!
Feanor: Stop that laughing! It's... disturbing when you laugh like that.
Vader: I let in two Buffyverse vampires, one werewolf and a talking dog, but I draw the line at politicians. I threw 'em out.
Morrie: Good show!

This explains, of course, why Spike is the OTHER bouncer and bartender.

M'lord Sith, you're free to throw Angel out if he even TRIES to grab the mic and sing. PLEASE.

Oh, and yeah, Morrie's hired this nice young fellow with the lightning-bolt scar and the glasses as another bartender too....

Well, some time back [livejournal.com profile] fernwithy wrote a terrific series called "By the Grace of Lady Vader", can't remember whether this was the first title of her series, go look it up on her web site. Written before ROTS, of course, but who cares, you'll like it.

Hee. I know FernWithy or JediGaladriel from way back over at the boards on TheForce.net. I was Jedi Skysong then. I LOVE LOVE LOVE her take on the Skywalker family, the relationship between Anakin and Padme, the GORGEOUS backstory of Darth Vader and Princess Leia AND I watched as she and ami-padme and the others collaborated on By the Grace of Lady Vader - one of the SCARIEST but BEST AUs I've ever read.

*grins* Heh. I was proud to join her on the Round Robin "The Penitent" too. I should look her up on LJ - thanks! XD

*giggles*

I went Sith right about the time I was hooked into the Harry Potter fandom. :P Significant? Go figure. *chortles*

The Penitent was great fun, that - my first time to actually get in there and seriously help write a Star Wars fan fic, not counting my embarassing ancient old fics cobbled away in my school notebooks with the Mary Sue Jedi. XP

snape: *Looks at Dumbledore* Come with me, Harry.

Harry: but, Dumbledore said he is going to take me to sicily to go see Mt. etna!

Snape: *grabs harry and goes away to Iceland*

But seriously, OMG stupid Jedi Council. Utterly blind. and yes, you had it in one with point e- Anakin at last has found he could save someone that despite everything to the contrary, that he does love.

I think that this is part of the reason Anakin was meant to bring "balance" to the Force. The Jedi were so busy with being "detached" and being "serene" and being all up in their Ivory Tower that they were beginning to lose that delicate balance of a person's individual worth against the larger picture.

Consider this - why didn't any of them lift a finger to free Shmi Skywalker, for example? Would it have been so hard to "buy" her and bring her to Coruscant and settle her at least comfortably somewhere, KNOWING that Anakin, now one of their own, is concerned about her and to give the boy peace of mind? That alone would have made Anakin trust them more and more likely to have gone to THEM for his quiet concerns, rather than "dear old Chancellor Palpatine."

Luke, for all his lack of knowledge of most Jedi traditions, had the one quality that the Jedi were beginning to forget - compassion and love. Had he gone in simply trusting in his training and power to kick Vader and Palpatine's asses - he'd be dead by now. Instead, he woke up Anakin/Vader's long-buried heart and that ultimately won that victory against the Dark Side.

A Jedi shall not know love.

And yet, like the ROTS novelization says - love is more than just a candle against the darkness. Love can ignite the stars. XP

I indulged in a bit of geekdom and re-watched attack of the Clones again tonight- and Lucas deserves a bit more credit than he has been given. It is amazing how everythigg flows togetehr.

Anyway, it seems that the Jedi only cared about midclorian count, or whatever, rather than the personal relationships that the padawans may have with parents who love them. This detachment allows them to raise the young padawans in the way that they want- apparently, taking these children away at birth or by toddlerhood!! Having Schmi would have been seen as distracting- if her, then why not the other children's parents! this, of itself, raises really unsavory moral questions about how the Jedi operated. stuck n their glittering high Ivory tower, they felt that that they could pluck their own away from the common ground.

And yes, Luke is someone who has great deal of love and compassion. despite the way us fans love making fun of Luke's whinyness to his uncle and aunt in ANH, it comes from a real place: Aunt a d Uncle Lars deeply and utterly love Luke, and tried to protect him from what destroyed his parents. No doubt Owen would have found some bit of something to soothe Luke's feeling about not going away to the academy. (Actually, Luke struck me as being somewhat indulged in the way that some adopted children are. Not spoiled, but having the knowledge that he was at least loved and safe with Owen and Beru. alos notice that just because he is a farmboy, that does not mean that he is stupid- there is a quick, native intellignece and empathy there.)

So in addition to Luke's power, his empathy and capcity for love is what really make him a Jedi, and abl e to overcome teh Emperor. [livejournal.com profile] mark356 had a great post a few weeks ago, about how the emperor, in those scene in RoTJ, shows how he can destroy Luke's friends, destroy the rebellion. And when Luke does not fall, does not commit the sin of patricide , the emperor can only torture him. And Luke is able take this- because ultimately Luke is truly not afraid to suffer, to die- or to love his friends and forgive an dlove his father.

And in doing so, helps saves the the galaxy- but more importantly, helps saves the soul of a someone we came to think of as a monster.

Whew! and people wonder why I love George Lucas so, marketing crap or no!

Heya - sorry to disturb your screaming, but the width of it has been upsetting my friends page for a couple of days now. Would it be possible for you to do something about it? Have skipped your (no doubt perfectly understandable) rant about the movie, due to the fact that I'm going to see it on Tuesday.

...and what's happened to [livejournal.com profile] invisiblesnitch? He hasn't been around for quite a while. I did tell [livejournal.com profile] vileseagulls that I would plead for you to write more, but shortly after that there was more, and now there is not. I am also looking forward to the return of Adam Pierson.

My apologies about your friends page. Er. I think there's something wrong in the formatting that may be beyond my powers to fix.

Or I'm just an LJ idiot. EEP. Sorry. I hope my entry's moved off far down the line now from your most recent friends page list.

As for the boys, yes, I will be writing more - I'm just very busy with work right now. Never fear.

*gulps* As for Adam Pierson - oh dear dear dear, he will entail a LOT of work and that means I have to clear off my Real Life plate first. Please bear with us.

okay, here's a fic.
